Well things have been very busy and crazy over here lately, I’m looking for a studio space to open up a permanent dojang and it’s a lot of work! I thought I had a spot but someone else grabbed it just before I could, ah well. It will be so nice to finally have my own dojang and not just rented space, that has been a dream for 10 years. You can teach TKD anywere but it’s a different feeling when you have a permanent spot that’s all yours and you can set up the way you like.

I was so happy to visit in December, I was a little sad too but I guess that’s normal. It’s not easy seeing everyone again just temporarily knowing that I’ll be leaving. Everyone has improved and grown so much, it was startling. I was very happy with everyones abilities in class and training. I was glad I could do the black belt test for Mrs. Phrasavath, Alec Trant, and Mathew Trant, they did really well, congratulations to them. Congratulations also to everyone who competed at the tournament, it went really well.

I have been to a bunch of castings for commercials this past month, I swear I am learning to act just from the tryouts, every time I go I learn something new about acting. Maybe I should have studied it in school and gotten a head start! Never thought acting would be a part of my future. I was hired as the main for a Pringles commercial, which means I would make $700 Can. and be the “star” of the commercial… but they cancelled the whole project. Very disappointing, this would have been my first main role and it took them weeks to decide out of the 5 guys who made the final cut, only to be cancelled by the client in England. Apparently I am in consideration for a main role in a chewing gum commercial and they are down to 2 guys, I find out in the next couple of days if they pick me.

I hope many of you can go and compete at the National Capital Cup on the 26th, it should be a good tournament.

Black Belts, please make sure you purchase your status card if you haven’t done so already. If you are still waiting for a black belt certificate than you are exempt until you get your certificate.
